We offer a number of services at Rainbow Mind:
- Radical Self-Care Courses: These are group sessions led by our experienced LGBTQ+ practitioners, aimed at teaching mindfulness and self-care skills that are specific to the LGBTQ+ experience. These courses run for 8 weeks and offer a supportive peer environment.
- 1 to 1 Support Options: These include options such as IAPT sessions based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and counselling sessions. These services operate on a 1 to 1 basis and can support LGBTQ+ people experiencing common mental health issues such as stress, low mood, anxiety and/or depression.
- Online Support: Our online support options are 'open door services'. This means anyone can attend, providing you identify as LGBTQ+, or, are exploring gender, sexuality, identity, and relationship diversity. These offer a supportive peer environment for LGBTQ+ people.
- Active Pride: This includes online & in-person sessions that promote mindfulness through physical activity, such as boxing, walking, and swimming. Our sessions are open to anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+, and to those exploring gender, sexuality, identity, and relationship diversity. Each session is run by a practitioner who identifies as LGBTQIA+.
- Queer Connect (Youth Programme): This is our new online LGBTQ+ community for queer young people : a regular, welcoming and accepting space for LBGTQ+ people aged 18-25 to drop-in, share and explore mental health and wellbeing through mindfulness, creativity and conversation. Our team is experienced in creating safe online spaces for young LGBTQ+ people to meet, connect, share and support each other. We even have a youth volunteer during each session to make you feel welcome. Oh, and we really like music, dance, art, movement - so expect some of that too!
The group will meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings (6pm-8pm), so drop by when you can and come back next time and help grow your own community.
- Specialised intersectional programmes for People of Colour & other minority communities: Inspired by the words of Audre Lorde, Rainbow Mind offers Radical Self-Care workshops aimed at promoting self-preservation as an act of political resistance, especially designed for racialised and marginalised communities including BAPOC and neurodivergent communities and work with lesbian, bisexual and trans women, and non-binary people seeking asylum. These workshops provide safe spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals to explore and practise self-care techniques, acknowledging the importance of mental well-being.
