Our Services

Following the recent success of our Radical Self-Care course research trial, we are now rolling out our Radical Self-Care courses to the wider LGBTQ+ community, with new digital courses starting from summer 2020.

Radical Self-Care (RadSec) is a training course put together by our experienced practitioners, aiming to help build resilience, and teaching self-care and mindfulness skills to address some of the unique mental health needs and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals. A research trial conducted by City University earlier this year found upon completing the course, participants had clinically significant improvements in general wellbeing and reductions in anxiety and depressive mood symptoms, as well as significant increases in self-compassion and mindfulness skills. Further, the results also showed significant reductions in experiences of shame and self-critical perfectionism – two issues that disproportionately affect LGBTQ+ individuals.

These upcoming courses are completely free of charge, and will be delivered in a digital format in order to keep our participants as safe as possible during the current situation in the UK.

To find out more about the Radical Self-Care courses and to register your interest, please email northernhub@rainbowmind.org to contact our Greater Manchester Hub, or rainbowmind@mindchwf.org.uk to contact our London Hub. You can also find out more about the Rainbow Mind project by following them on Twitter via @mindsrainbow.

We are also currently taking on clients for our 1 to 1 counselling service within Greater Manchester, that is also specifically for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community.
